Jack Houlton-Vinyl Receives Scholastic Gold Key Award

I received a letter in the mail today telling me that I'd won a gold key for the photography portfolio I'd submitted to Scholastic's "Alliance for Young Artist & Writers" program. Additionally, one of my photos will be displayed in the New York City Regional Art Awards Exhibit at the Casita Maria Center. My portfolio now goes on to National Judging.

An Introduction

Even though I currently have no "followers", as I have just started my blog. I feel that it is necessary to introduce myself.

My name is Jack Houlton-Vinyl. I am currently a New York City High School Senior at the Beacon School, and I am in the midst of hearing back from colleges. I have active interests in creative Writing and photography, and I plan to pursue them both in college.

At this point in my life, I've been more active in photography. Most specifically, I've had my pictures shown in several art shows including one at the the Museum of Modern Art.

I do enjoy to write, and have written short stories for much of my life. I am now beginning to work on several pieces to enter into competition.
